Overcoming the 4 Common Email Marketing Mistakes

Overcoming the 4 Common Email Marketing Mistakes

One of the main issues that I see people struggling with today is the lack of an effective email marketing system to generate a consistent flow of leads and income into their business.

Over the last few years I’ve been working to solve this and today I want to tell you about 4 mistakes that people make when implementing email marketing and how you can avoid making these same mistakes.

The Best Part?
By avoiding these mistakes you can get results in as little as 30 days.

Let’s Dive In:

Overcoming the 4 Common Email Marketing Mistakes

Mistake 1: Not Building Your Own List

This is a really dangerous mistake that many people make.  They think that they can just buy a list and off they go.  It is quite easy to see why people go down this route.  Getting a massive list of thousands of contacts with relative ease can sound attractive.

It is almost certainly going to backfire on you though!  Many email auto responder systems won’t allow you to import huge lists like this even if they have been gathered in a legitimate way, the people on these lists will never have heard of you and won’t have any idea what you are about.  They may feel that you are spamming them and will unlikely be receptive to any offer that you make.

Mistake 2: Not Segmenting Your Email List Effectively

Many people build a huge email list and broadcast to the whole list each time they send out an email.  You might think that there is no problem with this but what would happen if you had a proper segmented list?  You would get far better results – lower subscriber rates, higher engagement and more sales.

Examples of segmentation are different product interests, different buyer behaviours or locations.

Mistake 3: Lack of Automation

Automated emails are emails that are triggered by events such as a download, a product purchase or the joining of a community.  These types of emails have a really high open rate.  Not only are they segmented but they are also sent in a timely manner which ensures that they are relevant to the subscriber.

Mistake 4: Not Prioritising Proper Subscriber Opportunities

Do you give your site visitors ample opportunities to subscribe to your list?  On many occasions visitors will be in a hurry and will be scanning the content on your site.  You can almost be certain that they won’t be looking for an opt-in box.

This means that you need to ensure that you give them plenty of opportunities to subscribe.

That’s it. If you avoid the mistakes above you will be well on your way to creating a successful email marketing system.

Completely agree with these email marketing mistakes.

I also feel that these are the most common mistakes which most of the email marketers make. Sending emails with boring subject is very much common mistake.

I never open any email which don’t attract my eyes. I always ignore or delete such emails instantly.

Email marketers should understand that nobody wants to waste their time in reading boring emails. If you really want to convert them then you must have to send emails with having eye catchy, attractive and promising subject line. Because It is the only line which readers read first.

So taking care of it can improve your skills.

I am glad that you have listed all the major email marketing mistakes here so that we can learn them and can avoid them. Thanks for sharing it with us. 😀
